You can travel to Benbecula by both air and sea.

 

Benbecula Airport, located nearby in Balivanich, offers regular flights to Glasgow with Loganair and Stornoway with Hebridean Air Services.

Ferry services connect the islands to the Scottish mainland via both North and South Uist. The crossing from Uig on the Isle of Skye to Lochmaddy in North Uist takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. There is also a ferry service between Mallaig and Lochboisdale in South Uist, which takes 3 and a half hours. Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) operates the main ferry services to the Outer Hebrides.

There are also inter-island ferry services between Berneray in North Uist and Leverburgh in Harris, and between Eriskay in South Uist and Barra.
