You can travel to Benbecula by both air and sea.

Benbecula Airport, located nearby in Balivanich, has daily flights to Glasgow and also offers flights to Stornoway and Inverness. Flights are operated by Loganair.

Ferry services connect the islands to the mainland in both South and North Uist. A one and ¾ hour crossing from Uig, on the Isle of Skye will take you to Lochmaddy in North Uist. You can also take the ferry crossing from Mallaig to Lochboisdale, which takes 3 and a half hours. Caledonian MacBrayne operate all ferry services to the Outer Hebrides.

There is also an inter-island ferry between Berneray, North Uist and Leverburgh in Harris, and between Eriskay, South Uist and Barra.
